International calling
Calling and texting US and Canadian numbers is included in every plan. To call the rest of the world, turn on the International calling add-on: $5/month with $5 of international calls included every month, transparent per-minute rates after that, and automatic balance top-ups so calls never drop mid-conversation.
Before you start
- You must be a workspace admin or owner to change billing settings.
- The add-on carries the same 12-month commitment as all Ody add-ons.
Turn on international calling
Click Settings in the left sidebar, then International calling.
Click Enable · $5/mo.
Optional: pick your Auto top-up increment — $5, $10, $20, or $50 — and use Add funds now to preload balance. Purchased balance never expires.
On iPhone the wallet is read-only — view your balance and recent international calls in Settings → Billing, and manage the add-on on the web at app.ody.co.
How billing works
- $5 included monthly. Each billing cycle your wallet gets $5 of included international calling. It resets each cycle (no rollover).
- Per-minute rates by destination. Every country has a public rate, billed by the started minute. The app shows the exact rate before your call connects, and the full rate card lives at ody.co/international-pricing. Rates are refreshed daily.
- Deduction order. Calls draw from the included $5 first, then from your purchased top-up balance.
- Auto top-up. When the balance runs out mid-cycle, your card on file is charged in the increment you chose and the balance recharges instantly. Every top-up appears on your Stripe invoice history.
- Auto top-up off? International calls pause when the balance hits zero until you add funds — you're never charged more than you approved.
What counts as international
Any call to a number outside the US and Canada (+1) — both direct dialing and call forwarding to an international destination. Incoming calls to your Ody number are never metered, no matter where the caller is.
Troubleshooting
- "International calls are paused" in Settings → International calling means your last automatic top-up didn't go through. Add funds (or update your payment method) to resume.
- "We can't price calls to that destination yet" — a rare gap in the rate sheet; contact support with the number you're trying to reach.
