Port your number to Ody
Bring your existing number to Ody from Settings → Numbers → Port a number: enter the number and your current carrier's account details, sign the authorization, and track the order until it flips over.
Before you start
Gather these from your current carrier — mismatches are the #1 cause of rejected ports:
- The number(s) you're porting
- Your carrier account number
- Your port-out PIN / passcode (many carriers require you to generate one)
- The authorized name on the account
- The service address on file
Only owners and admins can open port orders.
Step-by-step
Click Settings in the left sidebar, then Numbers, and find Port a number under "Bring your existing number".
Click Start a port.
Enter the number(s) to port (you can list several, separated by commas or spaces), the current carrier, the authorized name, the account number, and the account PIN / passcode.
Fill in the service address on file with the carrier — street, city, state, ZIP.
Check the Letter of Authorization (LOA) box confirming you're authorized to port these numbers and the details are accurate.
Click Open port order.
Your order appears below the form with a live status. If it opens as Draft, click Submit to carrier to send it.
Tracking your port
Statuses progress from Draft → Submitted → Port date confirmed (the carrier has set the transfer date, shown on the order) → Ported. Use Refresh on the order to pull the latest status.
- Needs attention — the carrier rejected something; the reason shows on the order. Fix the details and resubmit.
- Cancel — you can cancel any order that hasn't completed.
Your number keeps working with your current carrier until the confirmed port date. Once ported, the number appears in "Your numbers" ready to configure.

Frequently asked questions
Will my number stop working during the port?
No — your current carrier keeps the number live until the moment it transfers on the confirmed port date.
How long does porting take?
The carrier sets the completion date (called the FOC date) after you submit — most US ports complete within days to a couple of weeks depending on the losing carrier.
Why do ports get rejected?
Almost always a detail mismatch: the account number, PIN, authorized name, or service address doesn't exactly match what your current carrier has on file. Fix the details and resubmit.
