Ring order — who rings first
By default every teammate's app rings at once and the first to answer wins — a per-number ring order lets you ring teammates one at a time instead, in an order you choose.
Before you start
- Custom ring orders are a Growth and Enterprise feature.
- Only owners and admins can change ring settings.
- A number assigned to one teammate rings just that person by default — no ring order needed (assign numbers in Settings → Numbers).
Step-by-step
Click Settings in the left sidebar, then Numbers.
On the number's card, click the Ring order chip. The editor expands below.
Under WHEN A CALL RINGS THE TEAM, pick:
- Ring all at once — everyone rings together (the default).
- Ring in order — teammates ring one at a time, in a priority list.
If you chose Ring in order, add teammates with + Add a teammate… and reorder them with the up/down arrows. Position 1 rings first.
Set the ring duration — "Ring each person for N seconds, then voicemail" (5–60 seconds, default 20).
Click Save ring order. A CUSTOM badge shows on the editor once a custom strategy is live; click Reset to everyone to return to the default.

Frequently asked questions
What happens if nobody answers?
The call goes to that number's voicemail after ringing each person (or everyone) for the duration you set — 20 seconds by default.
Which plans include custom ring orders?
Custom ring orders are included on the Growth and Enterprise plans. Without one, every teammate rings at once.
Does a ring order apply to all numbers?
No — ring orders are set per number, so your main line and a direct line can ring differently.
