Transfer a call to a teammate or number
Updated Tue Aug 04 2026 00:00:00 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time)
To hand a live call to someone else, press Transfer on the call card and pick a teammate or type an outside number — the caller is redirected immediately (a blind transfer).
Before you start
- Transfers work on answered incoming calls. Transferring a call you dialed yourself isn't supported yet — the Transfer button appears dimmed on those calls.
- Call transfers are part of the Growth and Enterprise plans.
Step-by-step
While on the call, press Transfer in the in-call control grid.
The Transfer call sheet opens with two options:
- Under TEAMMATES, click a teammate to send the caller to their Ody app.
- Under OR A NUMBER, type an outside number (e.g.
+1 512 555 0123) and press Transfer.
You'll see "Transferring to …" and your leg of the call ends — the caller connects to the new destination.
Troubleshooting
- If the teammates list says "No teammates with a softphone yet", your teammates haven't opened the Ody app to activate calling — the moment they sign in and open the app, they become transfer targets.
- If the transfer fails with an error toast, the destination may be unreachable — try an outside number or another teammate.
