Add seats for team members
You don't buy seats separately in Ody — every workspace member is a billed seat, and your subscription's seat count updates automatically when people join or leave.
Plans bought in the iPhone app
App Store subscriptions can't bill per seat, so a plan bought in the iPhone app covers one user and inviting teammates is disabled ("Team seats are available on plans billed on the web"). To build a team, cancel the App Store subscription in iPhone Settings → Subscriptions and, once it ends, choose a plan at app.ody.co — see Billing on iOS.
How per-seat billing works
- Your plan price is per user, per month (see Ody plans and pricing).
- When a teammate accepts an invite, the seat count on your subscription goes up by one. Stripe prorates the new seat for the remainder of the current billing period, so the charge appears as a line item on your next consolidated invoice.
- When you remove a member, the seat count goes down the same way — with one exception during a commitment, explained below.
Step-by-step: add a teammate
Click Settings in the sidebar, then Members & roles.
Invite your teammate by email and choose their role.
When they accept, the seat is added to your subscription automatically — nothing else to do on the billing side.
To verify, open Settings → Billing — the current-plan card shows your seat count (for example "3 seats").
Seats during a commitment
Monthly plans carry a 12-month commitment, and annual plans are prepaid for the year. While that term is active, your billed seats can rise freely but won't drop below the highest count you've reached during the term — removing a member keeps billing at the committed count until the term ends. After the commitment, billing follows your member count in both directions.
