Ody asks for microphone access the first time you call — if it was blocked (or the OS is blocking the browser), calls connect with no audio; re-allow it in the browser's site settings and refresh.
Chrome / Edge
- Click the tune/lock icon to the left of the address bar while on app.ody.co.
- Set Microphone to Allow (or open Site settings and change it there).
- Refresh the tab.
- Multiple mics? Pick the right one under
chrome://settings/content/microphone(Edge:edge://settings/content/microphone).
Safari (macOS)
- With app.ody.co open, go to Safari → Settings → Websites → Microphone.
- Set app.ody.co to Allow.
- Reload the page. Safari may still ask per session — click Allow when prompted.
Firefox
- Click the permissions icon left of the address bar and clear any blocked microphone entry.
- Reload the page and click Allow on the prompt, choosing the correct device.
- To review: Settings → Privacy & Security → Permissions → Microphone → Settings…
System-level settings (override the browser)
- macOS: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone — your browser must be toggled on. Changing this requires quitting and reopening the browser.
- Windows: Settings → Privacy & security → Microphone — "Microphone access" and "Let desktop apps access your microphone" must both be on.
Still silent?
- Close other apps that may hold the mic (Zoom, Teams, recording software), then refresh.
- Test the mic on another site or the OS sound settings to rule out hardware.
- Then continue with No audio or one-way audio.

Frequently asked questions
I clicked Block by accident — is that permanent?
No — reopen the site permissions from the icon next to the address bar, set Microphone to Allow, and refresh the tab.
The mic is allowed but still doesn't work — why?
Check the OS level: macOS and Windows have their own per-app microphone toggles that override the browser, and another app may be holding the mic.
