Import your website into Knowledge
Import website in the Knowledge tab reads your public site and turns it into one organized article — in the folder you're in, with the audience you choose — so your AI answers from what your site says.
Before you start
- You must be a workspace admin or owner.
- Only public websites work. Pages behind a login, intranet hosts and private addresses can't be read.
Step-by-step
Click Knowledge in the left sidebar. Open the folder the website article should live in, or stay on All articles for the top level.
Click Import website in the top-right corner. The Learn from your website card opens in place.
Type your address (for example
www.yourbusiness.com— Ody addshttps://) and click Fetch.Watch the five steps run with live counts: Connect, Crawl pages, Read content, Organize, Save.
When it finishes you see how many pages were read and how long the article is. View preview shows the text, Download .md keeps a copy, Done closes the card.
The new article appears in the list with a globe icon and yoursite.com · N pages read. It is Available to AI and set to Every AI — change either by opening it.
Keep it fresh
Open the website article. Under the title you see the address, when it was last read and how many pages. Click Re-read site to read it again in place — same article, same folder, same audience, fresh text. You don't need to delete and import again.
Edit what Ody read
A website article is a normal article. Open it and edit the Markdown like anything else — fix a price, remove a section, add a line your site doesn't say. Note that Re-read site replaces the whole text with a fresh read of the site, so keep hand-written facts in a separate article if you re-read often.
Troubleshooting
- "We couldn't reach that site" or "That site blocked us" — the site's firewall or bot protection turned away the reader, or the address is wrong. Check the spelling, try the
www.version, or click Add text instead and paste the key facts. - "We couldn't find readable text on that site" — the site is built entirely in JavaScript or is mostly images. Ody tries a second reading method automatically; if the message still appears, write the facts as an article.
- Fewer pages than expected — Ody reads up to 20 pages per import and prefers pages about hours, services, pricing, contact and booking. Add a short article for anything important it skipped.
- The article landed in the wrong folder — open it and change Folder in the right-hand card, then Save.
