Calling on iOS
Calling in the Ody iPhone app is built on Apple's CallKit, so your business calls get the native iPhone call experience — the standard in-call screen, mute, speaker, and keypad — while going out from your Ody number, not your personal one.
Make a call
Tap the Calls tab.
Tap the dial pad, enter the number, and call — or tap the phone button on any call-history entry to call that number back.
During the call you get the native controls: mute, speaker, and the keypad for phone-menu tones (DTMF).
You can also start calls from a contact's page — open a contact and tap Call.
Receive a call
When a customer calls your Ody number while the app is open, your iPhone shows a native incoming-call screen, and the same call rings your teammates and your own web app simultaneously — first to answer takes it, per your number's ring settings.
The app also rings when it's in the background or closed — Ody uses Apple's VoIP push system, so inbound calls wake your iPhone with the native incoming-call screen. Missed calls follow your number's rules (voicemail, forwarding) and show up in the Calls tab and inbox either way.
Call history and voicemail
The Calls tab lists all calls with All / Missed / Voicemail filters. Voicemails come with transcripts, and on Growth and Enterprise plans calls also get AI summaries in the conversation thread.
- Tap an entry to open its conversation — the full history of calls, voicemails, and messages with that number.
- Tap the phone button on the right of an entry to call back.
- Long-press an entry for quick actions: Call, Add to Contacts (for numbers you haven't saved yet — the form opens with the number filled in), and Copy number.
Inside a conversation with an unsaved number, the add-contact button in the top bar does the same thing — save a name and the whole app (call history, inbox, threads) shows it immediately.
Troubleshooting
- No audio on calls — check that Ody has microphone permission: iPhone Settings → Apps → Ody → Microphone.
- Inbound calls not ringing — check that notifications are allowed for Ody and that your number's ring settings include you.
