Notifications on iOS
The Ody iPhone app notifies you about business-line activity even when the app is closed:
- Inbound calls ring with the native iPhone call screen (background or closed โ no need to keep the app open).
- New text messages show a banner with the sender's name (or number) and the message.
- Missed calls and new voicemails each send a notification, grouped per conversation like the built-in Phone app.
- The app icon badge shows how many conversations have unread activity, and clears when you open the app.
Tapping a message, missed-call, or voicemail notification takes you straight into that conversation.
Enable notifications
- Sign in to the app โ Ody asks for notification permission right after.
- Tap Allow. That's it; your device registers itself automatically.
If you tapped Don't Allow, turn it on later in iPhone Settings โ Notifications โ Ody โ Allow Notifications.
Who gets notified?
Notifications follow inbox membership: everyone who can see the number's inbox gets the push on every device they're signed in on. Your personal texting apps are never involved โ this is only your Ody business line.
Troubleshooting
- No banners โ check iPhone Settings โ Notifications โ Ody, and that no Focus/Do Not Disturb mode is silencing Ody. Then sign out and back in to re-register.
- No ring for inbound calls โ that's a separate system (internet calling). Check your number's ring settings include you, and see Calling on iOS.
- Badge seems wrong โ open the app; the badge re-syncs with the next notification.
- Notifications on a device you no longer use โ sign out of Ody on that device; signing out stops its notifications.
