Notifications on Android
The Ody Android app notifies you about business-line activity even when the app isn't on screen:
- Inbound calls ring with Android's incoming-call screen โ full screen on a locked phone, a heads-up card otherwise โ with Answer and Decline buttons.
- New text messages show a notification with the sender's name (or number) and the message.
- Missed calls and new voicemails each send a notification, grouped per conversation.
- The app icon shows Android's notification dot while there is unseen activity (Android doesn't display a number like iPhone does).
Tapping a message, missed-call, or voicemail notification takes you straight into that conversation.
Enable notifications
- Sign in to the app โ on Android 13 and later, Ody asks for notification permission right after.
- Tap Allow. That's it; your device registers itself automatically.
If you tapped Don't allow, turn it on later in Android Settings โ Apps โ Ody โ Notifications.
Notification channels
Ody uses separate Android notification channels so you can tune each one in Settings โ Apps โ Ody โ Notifications:

Keep Incoming calls at its default importance โ lowering it stops the full-screen ring.
Who gets notified?
Notifications follow inbox membership: everyone who can see the number's inbox gets the push on every device they're signed in on. Your personal texting apps are never involved โ this is only your Ody business line.
Troubleshooting
- No notifications โ check Android Settings โ Apps โ Ody โ Notifications, that Do Not Disturb is off, and that Battery โ Unrestricted is set for Ody (some phones โ Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei โ put apps to "deep sleep" by default). Then sign out and back in to re-register.
- No ring for inbound calls โ that's a separate system (internet calling). Check your number's ring settings include you, and see Calling on Android.
- Notifications on a device you no longer use โ sign out of Ody on that device; signing out stops its notifications.
