Reconnect after a network change

When your laptop sleeps, Wi-Fi switches, or a VPN toggles, the softphone's connection drops — Ody reconnects automatically as soon as you return to the tab or the network comes back, so usually there's nothing to do but wait a few seconds.
What happens automatically
- The app detects the dead connection and rebuilds it with fresh credentials, retrying with increasing delays (from 1 second up to 30).
- Waking the machine, refocusing the tab, or the network coming back online each trigger an immediate reconnect attempt.
- Reconnects never interrupt a call you're already on.
Watch the status pill on the Calls screen: Connecting… means the reconnect is in progress; Softphone · +1… with a green dot means you're back.
If it doesn't come back
- Give it ~30 seconds after the network stabilizes — retries back off between attempts.
- Refresh the tab. This forces a clean session with a fresh token and resolves nearly every stuck Calling offline state.
- Check the network itself. Captive Wi-Fi portals and VPN reconnects can leave you "online" without working traffic — open another site to confirm, complete any Wi-Fi login page, and settle the VPN before retrying.
- Mid-call drop? A network switch during a call usually kills the audio path. Hang up, confirm the pill is green, and call back.

Frequently asked questions
Do I lose a live call when my network changes?
Usually yes — a mid-call network switch (Wi-Fi to hotspot, VPN on/off) drops the audio path. Call the person back once the softphone shows green.
Does my laptop sleeping break calling?
Waking the laptop or returning to the tab triggers an automatic reconnect — within a few seconds the softphone registers again and ringing resumes.
