Due dates and priorities

Updated Tue Aug 04 2026 00:00:00 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time)Web & iOS

Due dates drive everything on the Tasks screen — they decide whether a task lands in Today or Upcoming — while the High/Med/Low priority badges are currently display-only.

Set or change a due date

  1. Click Tasks in the left sidebar.
  2. On any task card, click the date field and pick a day from the calendar. The change saves immediately.
  3. To set a date at creation, use the date field in the New task composer.

How dates group your list

  • Today — due today or overdue. The date shows in amber as a nudge.
  • Upcoming — due later (or no date yet).
  • Completed — checked-off tasks, kept for reference.

About priorities (honest note)

Each task card shows a High, Med, or Low badge. In live workspaces, every task currently shows Med — the priority isn't a field you can set yet, so the badge is cosmetic for now. Until settable priorities ship, the reliable way to rank work is the due date: urgent things get today's date and float into Today.

Frequently asked questions

What happens when a task is overdue?

Tasks due today (or past due) sit in the Today group with their date highlighted in amber, so they're impossible to miss at the top of the list.

Why is every one of my tasks marked Med priority?

Priority badges are display-only for now — tasks in live workspaces all show Med because a settable priority field isn't in the data model yet. Use due dates to rank urgency.
