Get Slack or Telegram notifications for new activity

Updated Tue Aug 25 2026 00:00:00 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time)

Connect Slack or Telegram and Ody posts a short alert to the channel or group chat you pick whenever your business gets:

  • a new message (SMS or chat), with a preview,
  • a missed call, with the caller's name or number,
  • a voicemail.

Your team sees activity where they already work — no need to keep the Ody app open.

Set up Slack notifications

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations, open the Notifications category, and select the Slack tile.
  2. Select Connect and approve the Slack authorization for your workspace.
  3. Back on the tile, under Configuration, pick the channel that should receive alerts and save.

That's it — the next missed call or message posts to that channel.

Set up Telegram notifications

Telegram works through a bot you create in your own Telegram account (about two minutes):

  1. In Telegram, message @BotFather, send /newbot, and follow the prompts. BotFather gives you a bot token.
  2. Add your new bot to the group chat that should receive alerts, and send any message in that group so Telegram registers it.
  3. In Settings → Integrations → Notifications, open the Telegram tile, select Connect, and paste the bot token.
  4. Under Configuration, pick your group chat from the list and save.

Turning notifications off

Open the integration's tile and select Disconnect — alerts stop immediately. You can also just pick a different channel or chat at any time in Configuration.

Frequently asked questions

Which events send a notification?

New inbound messages, missed calls, and voicemails. Calls you answer and messages you send don't notify — you already know about those.

Can I use both Slack and Telegram at the same time?

Yes. Every connected and configured notification tool gets the same alerts.

I connected Slack but nothing arrives — why?

Most likely no channel is picked yet. Open the Slack tile in Settings → Integrations and choose a channel in Configuration. For Telegram, make sure the bot has been added to your group and someone has sent at least one message in it.
