Import contacts from your CRM or another platform
The fastest way to fill your Ody contact list is to connect the tool that already has it: contact-syncing integrations import your whole list automatically and keep bringing in new entries.
Which integrations import contacts
Most connected tools import contacts today — CRMs (Attio, Buildium, Close, Copper, folk, Follow Up Boss, Freshsales, Insightly, noCRM.io, Pipedrive, Pipeline CRM), helpdesks (Crisp, Dixa, Freshdesk, Front, Gorgias, Kustomer, Zendesk), e-commerce (Shopify, WooCommerce, Stripe, Recharge), marketing (ActiveCampaign, Beehiiv, Brevo, Klaviyo, Mailchimp), and CallRail. See the full list on Which integrations does Ody support? or browse ody.co/integrations. If your tool isn't there yet, use the CSV upload — every CRM can export a CSV.
Step-by-step
Click Settings in the sidebar, then Integrations.
Connect your CRM or marketing tool — see Connect an integration.
The import starts automatically. (A few tools need one pick first — Mailchimp an audience, Beehiiv a publication, CallRail an account, Crisp a website: open the tile's Configuration, choose it, and the import starts when you save.)
Open the Contacts screen — your list fills in within a minute or two.
To pull the latest changes on demand, click Import contacts on the integration's card.
How Ody avoids duplicates
Every imported contact is matched against your existing list — by phone number first, then by email:
- If a match is found, the existing contact is updated (names filled in, notes and tags merged) — nothing is overwritten with blanks.
- Contacts Ody created automatically from earlier calls or texts get adopted: the import fills in their real name and details.
- Only genuinely new people create new contacts.
Troubleshooting
- Nothing imported — check the integration card for a "Needs attention" badge; if the tool has a Configuration picker (Mailchimp, Beehiiv, CallRail, Crisp), make sure something is picked.
- Some contacts are missing details — Ody imports name, phone, email, and company. Fields your tool doesn't expose (custom fields, deal data) aren't imported yet.

Frequently asked questions
Will importing create duplicates?
No. Ody matches incoming contacts by phone number first, then email, and updates the existing contact instead of creating a copy — including contacts Ody auto-created from earlier calls.
How long does an import take?
The first import usually finishes within a couple of minutes; the card shows when contacts were last imported.
If I edit a contact in Ody, does it change my CRM?
Not yet — imports are one-way (from your tool into Ody) today. Two-way sync is planned.
