Group texting in Ody
Updated Tue Aug 04 2026 00:00:00 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time)Web & iOS
Ody doesn't support group texting yet — every conversation in the inbox is one-to-one between your business number and a single customer.
What this means in practice
- You can't start a thread with multiple recipients. There's no multi-recipient composer; each customer gets their own conversation.
- Incoming group messages are threaded by sender. If a customer includes your Ody number in a group text, their message lands in your existing one-to-one conversation with them. Replying reaches only that person, not the group.
- To reach several people, text them individually. Each conversation keeps its own history, so nothing gets crossed between customers.
What's coming
Group conversations are part of Ody's data model and group messaging is on the roadmap. We'll update this article — and the composer — when it's available.

What happens if a customer includes my Ody number in a group MMS?
